Fully Thawed
March came and went, y’all.
My mom turned 73, I slammed together three new zines and a new book, and um, now it’s April and there’s so much more ahead.
As anticipated, I’m late to update. Now that FLUKE is over, I’ve got some downtime before my next event here in Athens and before I head to Chicago for CAKE.

What’s new?
Earlier in March, there was a weekend of action across Athens. Various events organizing to spread awareness about ICE detention centers being built in Georgia and raising money for the local immigrant rights coalition. My collaborator put together a show at a bar and I gathered a few artists to make mono print posters to sell and donate the proceeds. We raised $1200 in just one night! Community does pull through and it feels real good when everything else feels bonkers.

And of course there was FLUKE, and the SPLAT! pre-party reading, and my comic workshop all back to back (in reverse order). Great turnouts through it all and FLUKE is my favorite way to kick off fest season.
In the studio, I’m working on a little free-form autobio comic thing. Something I’d proposed in my artist-in-residence application a 12-page zine. It’s coming along. As you can see, I’m sticking with graphite.
